I did this course with Mr. Thomas Kalpatoo under the assistance of Joanne Chuckaree and Christine Cole who were knowledgeable, experienced and had the temperament to help you learn the mediation skills.
The exposure to this was worthwhile.

I participated in March 2015, the Elements of Family Medation 40-hour programme conducted by Mediation Associated Ltd. I found it to be interesting, challenging and rewarding. Over the duration of the course, I gained a lot of knowledge and practical strategies that was beneficial to me. The lead facilitator, Mr. Michael Lang, was very knowledgeable and experience in his field as a family mediator. He conveyed his expertise well and with extreme clarity. Ms. Chuckaree and Ms. Cole added a dimension of tangibility to the role plays which lent realism to the task and goal of a family mediator. The programme exceeded my expectations significantly
Mediator in Workplace Matters
I have done this programme twice. It may sound strange to have done the same training programme twice. Well actually I have done three Family Mediation Workshops. The first one was good. However, when I read the summary of this programme that my friend the late Tom Kalpatoo provided for me I found that this particular workshop offered a different perspective than the first Family and Divorce Workshop that I had completed many years before (with a different provider). At that time the programme was facilitated by Michael Lang and Tom, two gentlemen whom I hold in very high regard.
By the end of the first day I was looking forward to the second day and by the end of the second day I was glad that I had signed up. The structure of the programme clearly articulates the issues on which emphasis must be placed by a Family Mediator. The programme heightens the Mediator’s consciousness of the importance of listening for, identifying and paying close attention to issues which might have otherwise been overlooked.
It also encourages the mediator to develop self-awareness and to engage in reflective thinking. After having completed the programme I felt confident that I had sharpened my skills as a family mediator, and I did, so when the opportunity arose to do this same programme a second time, I quickly jumped at the opportunity, which I saw a to approach the programme from a different perspective, the perspective of evaluating my practice, since by that time I was a practicing family mediator. The second bite at the cherry provided an opportunity to evaluate and hone my skills and approaches to Family Mediation.

I attended the 40-hour Family Mediation training and was very satisfied. The trainers were extremely knowledgeable and encouraged participants to engage in activities that allowed us to gain first hand experience with regard to the mediation process at work. I would definitely recommend this training program to anyone interested in Family Mediation
Attorney-at-Law and Non Profit Director
I attended courses on Civil and Family mediation where Ms. Christine Cole and Ms. Joanne Chuckaree were facilitators. The training was excellent in content and offered practical and transferable knowledge and skills. The facilitators proved to be very experienced, discerning and compassionate. I encourage anyone needing the skills offered by mediation or wanting to become a mediator to attend this training. (Everyone can benefit from the training by applying it to home, work and in the community
